Red Shouldered Hawk
Recorded in Bamberg County, South Carolina - April, 2009.
I recorded this hawk's call during what I believe was a courtship between several pairs of hawks over a swampy area in the lowcountry of South Carolina. These hawks prefer swampy woods and bogs and hunt by watching from a low perch, dropping down to capture snakes and frogs.
